The Robbie Farmer Memorial Library, named in memory of a long-time church member, was created in 1998 when the church building was renovated and expanded. The library is part of the church's educational ministry and seeks to provide materials for Christian learning and lifelong enrichment. It is fully automated and open to all free of charge.

Although a large portion of our collection relates to religious history and doctrines, these resources are not limited to Methodism or even Christianity. There is an abundance of materials on nearly all subjects and for all ages. Materials are primarily in English and Spanish and include large-print editions. Since the church operates a day school, the library contains a sizable collection of materials for children and teachers. These materials are of special interest to parents who homeschool their children. Click here to access our catalog.
Our library is primarily "self-service," with instructions for borrowing and returning materials clearly posted in the event that a volunteer is not on duty to assist you. We are affiliated with the Rosenberg Library in downtown Galveston. Both the Robbie Farmer Memorial Library and the Rosenberg Library collections are searchable from our computers. There is a book drop in the south parking lot for deposit of our materials as well as those from Rosenberg Library.
We also have:
•Large-Print Books
•Audiobooks
•Magazines
•DVDs
•Public Computers
The library contains online computers for public use. Computer users must agree to the Computers and Networks Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) (attached below) and return the signed agreement before using the computers. Parents are required to give written permission for minors to use the computers.
AUP AgreementWe accept donations of books and magazines for inclusion in the collection or in the annual book sale. Materials can be dropped off in the library at any time. The library is always glad to receive contributions for its collection, giveaway shelves, and the annual book sale.
If you are interested in volunteering in the Library Ministry and can spare a couple of hours a week to spend in a "clean, well-lighted place" (Ernest Hemingway, 1933), please contact Mary Ferris below.
